Joshua Braverman's Shaolin Kungfu Zen Class report
If there was one thing I learned about kung fu is always try your best. Even if Shifu is not looking do your forms to the best of your ability, mainly because you’re only hurting yourself. Always make sure your kicks, punches, and other movements are strong, fast, and clear. Always be respectful. If you’re not you’ll be punished, this includes no talking, no joking, no fighting, bowing, saying thank you, and definitely no back talking. What I learned is that kung fu is like life. If you’re not strong you’re going to get hurt. If you’re not respectful at your job or to your boss than you’ll be fired. Finally if you don’t take things seriously than you’ll never get anywhere in life. Once I get to black belt I want to teach. I want to teach kids what I learned when I was a kid, in that way I’ll be passing on the tradition of after your done. One thing I like most about kung fu is that it’s fun yet it helps you defend yourself. Shifu told us to never to use are skills for fun or to show off but only to use them in times when you really need them. Finally kung fu is something I’ll never forget when I’m older and I’ll always remember the friend’s I met during those years of my life.
